The studio focus on modes of interacting with ‘Plantea’ by contemplating on interiority while analyzing and parameterizing environmental conditions, atmospheric qualities, and bodily experience. In the first project students became ‘gazers’ looking ‘outside’ to a view of greenery from ‘inside’ a room where they are expected to translate the atmospheric qualities and embodied experience into an algorithm.

The main project concentrated on designing a conservatory/greenhouse complementary to Büyükdere Nursery and Horticulture School which has lost its educative purpose in 2001. While restoring and activating the old school, students were expected to hybridize the program of the conservatory/greenhouse where plants are nurtured and exhibited. The crucial aspect of the project was to propose a scenario that emerges both from, the interaction between the ‘gazer’ and plants and how the user experiences the ‘climatic’ interior that satisfies distinct environmental conditions such as light, heat, humidity, etc. For designing ‘climatic’ interiors, computational design tools were utilized throughout the project.
